Philippines has the longest Christmas season, why, because filipinos started to celebrate Christmas during "ber" months as its called in the Philippines, that is, September, October, November, December. where filipinos started to put Christmas decorations in their homes and bring out their Christmas tree and put some Christmas lights and also you started to hear some beautiful Christmas songs.Also most of the city in the Philippines started to put decorations on their public plaza for the people who wants to feel that the Christmas season is coming
Simbang Gabi is a Filipino Christmas tradition involving a series of nine dawn Masses, usually starting on December 16 and culminating on Christmas Eve. They had to wake up early to go to the nearby church with their family and friends and complete the nine dawn masses because they believed that attending the nine-day series of dawn Masses can bring blessings and is often associated with making special petitions or wishes. Additionally, completing all nine Masses is thought to fulfill a devotion that may result in answered prayers or blessings.
Parol
The parol, or Christmas lantern, is a popular decoration symbolizing the Star of Bethlehem. It comes with different shapes, sizes and it made from a bamboo sticks and colored paper or other materials. Some of the community hold a parol contest made of recycled materials. Also some of the filipino make their own parol with their family as one of their bonding during "ber" months.
Aguinaldo or Caroling
Filipino children go door to door of the house to sing a different Christmas song and receive a small amount of money or gifts. The children starts caroling at the first evening of December it brings them joy and laughter. The song they sing is both traditional Filipino carols and international christmas songs. This tradition not only brings joy to the community but also fosters a sense of togetherness during the holiday season.
